Meet Gnarly, our new dog at Cannons Marina. We have had him for a few weeks now and he stole our heart on the day he arrived! We love him and we know you will too. So far, he is a little spoiled; he has even been to Pet Supermarket to pick out his doggie car seat. OK, it may sound a little much but can you blame us? It’s “safety first” for our shaggy little guy!
Why did we choose the name “Gnarly?” Well, according to the Urban Dictionary, Gnarly means: “Beyond radical, beyond extreme and beyond perfection.” Need we say more?
We thought you’d like to know more about Gnarly’s breed; Gnarly is a Goldendoodle or “Groodle” which is 1/2 golden retriever and 1/2 standard poodle. The breed is sort of new and has been bred in North America since the early to mid-1990’s. We were quite impressed with the breed; once we did a little research, we knew that the Groodle was the ideal choice for our marina dog.
Poodle crosses are light to non-shedding dogs and do well with families with mild allergies. The physical appearance of the Groodle is anywhere from a shaggy or a gnarly looking retriever to a curl-relaxed poodle and usually it falls somewhere in the middle. Groodle’s color range is from cream, gold, apricot, chocolate, gray or even black. The Groodle personality is generally very sweet and playful. Groodles are smart, sensitive and water loving, which sounds like the perfect dog for us!
Providing the breeder uses sound, quality breeding stock, these dogs are well rounded, with even personality and dispositions. They are very intelligent, friendly with strangers and other pets and enjoy the companionship of their owner or family. The Goldendoodle is not a known biter. Gnarly fits the bill perfectly; he’s smart, super friendly and absolutely non-violent. Did we mention how darn cute he is?
Gnarly is here at work most days so stop by and see him! He loves a good belly rub! We know he’ll quickly become a customer favorite.
