Team Cannons/Team Jupiter Places 3rd in "King of the Beach" Fishing Tournament

team cannons | team jupiter - King of the Beach fishing tournamentJupiter Boats were the talk of the town at the “Mad Beach Food Fest” and “King of the Beach” fishing tournament that took place November 1 -3 in Madeira Beach. The festival features local bands, food stands from local restaurants and a fishing tournament that is sponsored by the Old Salt Fishing Foundation. This was the first year that Cannons took part in the festival and, according to Cannons’ Captain Mike Adams everyone was blown away and impressed with the quality and design of the Jupiter that was showcased at the event. “We put a 34’ Jupiter on display and we were the talk of the town,” Mike excitedly says. “A lot of people haven’t seen Jupiters up there and we came in quietly, no one really knew that we were sponsoring a [fishing] team.”
Having the Jupiter on display wasn’t the only exciting part for Cannons; Cannons Marina and Jupiter Boats also sponsored customer Randy Stewart and his team in the 17th Annual Fall “King of the Beach” fishing tournament. Anglers came together to compete in the gulfcoast open waters (30 mile westward boundary) looking to become King with a smoker king mackerel.  The event has grown into one of the largest Kingfish Tournaments in the state of Florida. Team Cannons/Team Jupiter came in 3rd place overall out of 240 boats. Mike Adams says, “We missed the first place fish by only a pound and a quarter.”
Team Cannons/Team Jupiter member Randy Stewart bought his second Jupiter from Cannons and Mike Adams about a year ago. Mike says, “Randy has always said he’s a Jupiter guy. Last December, he bought from us a Jupiter 38 forward seating model with triple Yamaha 250s.” And the Jupiter served them well in the fishing tournament, giving them all the support they needed to put in a solid performance and place 3rd in the tournament. Mike adds, “There were a lot of people there!  To get 240 boats to enter a fishing contest, it’s pretty impressive. There were a lot of fish caught!”
Overall, fun was had by all at the Mad Beach Food Fest and Fishing Tournament. Mike sums it up by saying, “We showed up, put our boat on display and came in third place in the tournament! So we definitely heard some chatter about Jupiter and how our customers came in 3rd. We had a lot of people stop by our booth and it was a very professionally run tournament.”
Great job to Team Cannons/Team Jupiter and to Mike Adams. We think Jupiter boats are awesome too; thanks for making us look good!
