Many of our boat rental customers like to include boating up to a seaside restaurant in their boating itinerary. And we totally understand why! When you need a little break from the sun and a little fuel for your belly, nothing is better than tieing up your boat and pulling up a bar stool to a cold beer and a fresh grouper sandwich. We are lucky to have so many good boat-up restaurants in our area, but when Tide Tables restaurant recently opened its doors, we now have a new favorite! This is a wonderful addition to Cortez Fishing Village and here’s why we love it:
1) Location!
Located on a gorgeous little bit of land, just east of the Cortez Bridge, Tide Tables is the perfect spot to relax and stuff yourself full of the fresh seafood while you overlook the Bay. Located by car at 12507 Cortez Road and by boat at Marker 48. The restaurant was formerly a bait and tackle shop, but co-owners Bobby and Gwen Woodson have lovingly restored the inside, where every seat has a water view and the nautical decor is fun and funky.
2) The Food!
The freshest Grouper we have had in ages! You know it’s fresh when you see the restaurant’s fish cutter cleaning the fish you’ll soon be eating at their fish cutting station, located just behind the restaurant on the dock. Choose from seafood baskets (shrimp, scallops, grouper), ribs or Sandwiches, which includes the Shrimp Po’ boy, Grouper, Mahi or an All-American Burger. The menu has a cajun flair, so getting any fish blackened is an excellent choice.
3) Happy Hour!
Monday – Friday from 3 – 5, Bud and Bud Light drafts are $1 and the delicious Mahi Tacos are $6.95 (normally $10.95).
4) Good People!
The staff is filled with friendly, happy people – and what’s not to be happy about when you’re working at a spot like this? You’re likely to find co-owners Bobby and Gwen on the property, talking with customers and happily helping out. Captain Gwen will soon be starting scenic boat tours that depart from the dock.
