If you’re like us, you want to be outside—preferably near or in the water—but without all the traffic. So we’ve planned your perfect weekend itinerary…and best of all, you can start from your own dock. Here are our pro tips.

Make a stop at a sandbar for some fun in the sun.
Crack open a cold beverage, crank up the tunes and take a dip—or just enjoy the sunshine (with plenty of SPF, of course). Here are some of our favorite spots to drop anchor.
Keep your eyes peeled for marine life.
In Southwest Florida, you’ll spot sea turtles, dolphins, manatees, roseate spoonbills, stingrays, pelicans, seahorses, all kinds of fish, sharks and more. Keep track of how many you see (but take care not to feed them—and remember, we’re all sharing the water).
Speaking of fish…
Whether you’re an amateur fisher or a seasoned pro, there’s lots to love about fishing our waters. Almost year-round, you’ll find whiting, flounder, Jack Crevalle, redfish, snook, pompano, sea trout, permit, houndfish, ladyfish, Spanish mackerel and bluefish. Don’t forget your rods and reels—or your fishing permit.
